"I believe my deep roots in this community, my long history with the Democratic Party in this area, and my strong ties to organized labor will help me build the kind of organization I'll need to win this race."

"I'm running for Congress because our families, veterans and senior citizens deserve to have a true advocate in Washington. I know what it's like to raise a family and put children through college. In Congress, I will focus on their needs by working to create new jobs, strengthen Social Security, and protect our country."

"I feel confident that I have assembled a top-notch campaign team with unparalled experience in this part of the state, and we're ready to hit the ground running."

"I am excited about the challenges ahead of me, and I look forward to meeting the people of the 18th Congressional District and discussing the issues in every town across this district. Together we will ensure that the 18th District has the kind of representation it deserves in Congress."
